Billy has designs of himself

01 Apr, 2009 11:15 AM
BILLY Kelleher has a promising future in the world of design.

Work by the former Williamstown High School student has been selected for the Top Design VCE exhibition, featuring the most talented young design students from across the state.

A set of posters designed by Billy in media studies, advertising an old-fashioned travelling freak show, will be on display at the Melbourne Museum until July 21.

The Altona 18yearold is pleased to have his talent on display. "I was really stoked to see it [my work] on the wall with all the professional lighting," he said. The process of costume and make-up design, photography, digital editing and printing took more than 100 hours.

And that's in addition to Billy studying all his other year 12 subjects.

He plans to pursue a creative career, with an interest in toy design, writing, theatre, film or radio.

"I don't really know what I want to do. I just want to have free range."

He is well on his way, being accepted into a creative arts degree at La Trobe University which he will begin next year.
