Harmonious treat in store

10 Mar, 2010 12:00 AM
EXPRESS yourself through food at this month's free Maidstone Harmony Feast.

Maribyrnong Council will be serving up different flavours from around the world on March 21 in a celebration of multiculturalism.

"If you haven't experienced delicious food fresh from the tandoor or wood-fired pizza with ingredients picked straight from the veggie garden, the Maidstone Harmony Feast is your chance," mayor Sel Sanli said.

The food will be freshly prepared on site and served up with global entertainment.

"Organisers are already spending time in the community garden and preparing the wood-fired oven and tandoor for the feast. Don't miss out on the chance to experience the rich flavours our city is renowned for," Cr Sanli said.

"Sharing food is a great way to break down common myths about different foods.

"The feast will encourage people to experience new flavours and gain an understanding of the different cultures that call our city home."

The feast is from noon-3pm at Maidstone Community Centre, 21 Yardley Street, Maidstone. Details: Wendy Vine, 93170747.
